One of my dear friends, Siobhán Ellis, will later this year be riding her Lambretta scooter from Sydney to Perth to help raise funds for breast and prostate cancer.
This isn’t a short trip – it’ll take Siobhán a little more than two weeks to get from Sydney to Perth. It’s around 4,000 kilometres, or just under 2,500 miles. As the crow flies, that’s around the same distance one would fly from London to Baghdad. Going coast to coast in Australia is almost as long a drive as going coast to coast in the USA, so it’s a long way to go to raise funds, and it’s a good cause.
Having recently lost a friend to cancer, I’ll be putting my money where my mouth is and sponsoring Siobhán on her epic ride.
If you’re interested in making a donation, or know someone who might be, you can check out the web site for the trip, www.lammiedrive.org.au.
