At the moment though instead we&#8217;ve got the reverse; 7.5<span style=\"text-decoration:line-through;\">.1<\/span> oops, sorry, SP1 software is available for download, but no notes &#8230; yet.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m downloading now for testing \u2013 I&#8217;ve currently held off recommending 7.5 to any customer as yet, preferring to have them stick to 7.4.4 wherever possible. Hopefully the release notes won&#8217;t be too far behind, as testing a new service pack without the release notes is a bit hit and miss.<\/p>\n<p><em>Important edit &#8211; added later but top<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Important! Covered in the release notes, which I <em>know<\/em> you read, right? If you use scripts that use mminfo, you <em>really, really<\/em> need to be across this. Look at the output from mminfo:<\/p>\n<pre>$ mminfo -s nox -q \"client=archon,name=\/Users\/preston\/tmp\/\"\n\u00a0volume\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 client\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 date\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 size\u00a0\u00a0 level\u00a0 name\nStaging-03\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 archon\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 31\/03\/2009\u00a0 45 MB\u00a0 manual\u00a0 \/Users\/preston\/tmp\/\nStaging-03.RO\u00a0 archon\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 31\/03\/2009\u00a0 45 MB\u00a0 manual\u00a0 \/Users\/preston\/tmp\/<\/pre>\n<p>That&#8217;s right &#8211; if you do a manual backup, it doesn&#8217;t show up as a &#8216;blank&#8217; level any more.<\/p>\n<p><em>Edit<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Things that drive me nuts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Changes that don&#8217;t appear in the release notes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Look at this in change to the &#8216;Sessions&#8217; output in nsrwatch:<\/p>\n<pre>Sessions:\n\u00a050 MB are saved to pool 'Staging' (Staging-01) of aralathan:\/\n\u00a0nox:\/d\/03 saving to pool 'Staging' (Staging-03) 768 MB<\/pre>\n<p>Now, tell me <em>where<\/em> in the Release Notes that this is mentioned. I&#8217;ll give you a hint: nowhere.<\/p>\n<p>I know some things get forgotten, but it <em>is<\/em> very frustrating when release notes have a &#8220;what&#8217;s new&#8221; section that doesn&#8217;t include everything that&#8217;s new!<\/p>\n<p><em>Next Edit<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Definitely mentioned in the release notes as a fixed bug, as a long-term <em>nsradmin<\/em> user, I&#8217;m relieved to see that the bug I logged last year has been fixed \u2013 that being <em>nsradmin<\/em> crashes when you resize the window. If you live in <em>nsradmin<\/em> like I do, this is a handy fix.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NetWorker 7.5.1 oops sorry, SP1 has been released.
