EMC has been buying so many companies lately that sometimes it’s difficult to remember who did what, and why they might have bought them.<\/p>\n
However, this is one to remember – EMC buying Kazeon<\/a>, a data indexing\/eDiscovery company. (The deal was done a short while ago, but I’ve been tied up enough that I haven’t had time to talk about it before now.) I think it’s becoming more and more obvious that data indexing\/eDiscovery is the next wave in ILM; in the end, it doesn’t matter how much data we can store if we can’t find it. Like data visualisation<\/a>, data indexing is just going to continue to grow and become more and more important.<\/p>\n I’m looking forward to seeing the acquired technology make its way into a plethora of EMC products. I think everyone would agree that SourceOne is the first, most likely candidate.
