(Check out the link to the product landing page – from there you can go to the release notes to see the full region list.)

Veritas NetBackup support for Retention Lock with DD Boost 7.4.0.5 and higher. So, if you’re still backing up in the past with NetBackup, you’ll be able to apply some extra protection to it.

The REST APIs have been updated with more functions for setup and configuration usage.

Security enhancements for certain operations on the filesystem have been enhanced.

Whoa! DDVE on Azure can now scale to 256 TB as well. That’s Azure, AWS and GCP now all supporting 256 TB of DDVE. This represents an unparalleled economy of scale for deduplication storage in the public cloud! (Even at just 20:1 deduplication, a 256 TB DDVE would hold 5 PB of backups!)

DDVE on KVM now supports RedHat Enterprise Linux 7.6 and 8.0, and SuSE Linux 12 SP4/15.

The hardware:

If you’re using a high-availability (HA) system, upgrades have been sped up.

Support for 8TB Shelf Migration – For compatible systems with DDOS 7.4, you’ll be able to perform a shelf-migration from smaller capacity drives.

The DD 6900 has been updated to support a lower capacity start point – 24 TB. (The previous entry point was 48 TB.) What’s more, you can do capacity increases in 12 TB increments on the system. This will be a real boon for businesses who know they’ll go beyond the maximum capacity of the DD3300 (32TB), but want to increase capacity in smaller units than a whole 60 TB disk pack.

You can access the DDOS 7.4 documentation from the support landing page, here.
