This blog has been quiet for all of 2026. Unfortunately, that’s the way life works sometimes. 2026 has been a gruelling year for me. My hours left me with very little energy for anything, and despite my best intentions to get back to the blog, I kept on not having the energy to do so.
Earlier this month I finished up in my role at $vendor after my position was impacted. I’ve been taking September out for some much-needed decompression (or is that deduplication?) time; other than public holidays and sick days, I’d not taken any time off in 2026, so I felt a few weeks out was much needed – and deserved. I’m definitely feeling recharged!
Starting in October I’ll be more seriously looking for work: my first focus will be remote work. I sincerely believe I work better and more efficiently from home, where I don’t need to worry about commuting or distractions – not everyone, after all, is an extrovert. The past four years of working from home and juggling up to 16 meetings in a day has proven to me how efficient I can truly be when I can focus on the work and not the time in-between the work.
Within the sphere of remote work, I’m keen to explore options within:
- Data protection vendors
- Data classification/management vendors
- IT governance
- Management roles
- Product management roles – particularly relating to Customer Experience (CX) and User Experience (UX).
For any of these roles, I’d bring a wealth of experience and maturity, with almost 30 years of industry experience focusing largely on enterprise data protection. Over the years I’ve worked in solution delivery, architecture, consulting, support, training, management, and most recently, product management.
If you want to chat with me about the breadth and depth of value I’d bring to your business, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn, and check out the recommendations from my recent co-workers. I’m happy to share my CV and discuss the sorts of projects I’ve been working on if you’re looking for someone who can make a real difference to what your company is doing.
